Factum Probatum
See what is in the export, before anyone reads it.
Drop a WhatsApp chat (the _chat.txt file or the export zip) or a Signal text export. You get message counts, gaps, edits, deletions, calls and a fingerprint of the file.
Nothing leaves this page. The file is read and analysed in your browser. No chat content is sent anywhere, there are no analytics scripts, and no model is used: the analysis follows fixed rules.
Choose the export
A .txt or .zip. Media in a zip is counted, never opened. You can also drop the file here.
In WhatsApp: open the chat, choose Export chat, then Without media.
Who took part
Check the names that took part
These are the names that begin messages in the file. Names that begin two or more messages are ticked. A name that begins only one is left unticked and appears in the report as an unconfirmed participant.
What ticking changes
An unticked name is still read as a message and is counted as one, but the person is not counted as a participant until you tick the name. If you re-run with a name unticked, a line that begins with it and does not fit the time order is kept as part of the message before it. Add a name if one is missing.
Two questions only you can answer
Keep or pass on the report
The saved file is a record of your export and contains the file name, the participant names and short previews of the messages listed in it. Store and share it as you would the export itself.
Order the Factum package for this export
The package turns this export into an evidence table and ledgers, each number cited to a message line. Ordering opens our site's form. If you confirm, it carries only the items below, in the web address; no message text, names or file go with it.
The button stays inactive until you confirm.
